have to scrap the entire installation and start fresh from a reformated disk is not a reasonable solution. It may be your only solution. It is what it is. Will Vista Sp1 fix this problem without a drastic reformat/re-install? Maybe and maybe not. I kind of doubt it, particular with something like IIS.
